Staff vacancy - Museum Assistant (Front of House)
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Museum Assistant. The role will join an existing team to take day to day responsibility for running the museum on the days that it is open, and for giving every visitor an excellent welcome. On a typical day our Museum Assistants open up, get the galleries and public spaces looking their best, run admissions and the shop, answer questions about the collection, keep an eye on the safety and security of visitors and objects, support events and school visits, and lock up at the end of the day.
This is a varied and flexible job. In a small museum everyone turns their hand to everything, and there is real scope to grow the parts of the role that interest you most.
The full advert for the role can be downloaded here: SRM Museum Assistant Advert Aug 2026 amended.pdf
